At Natural State Wild Med, we believe kids are capable of far more than we often give them credit for — especially when they’re taught the right skills in the right way.
Our Wild Med Kids courses are designed to equip children and teens with real-world first aid knowledge, practical survival skills, and confident decision-making tools — all taught in a developmentally appropriate, hands-on, and engaging environment. These are not sit-and-listen classes. They are active, skill-based experiences where kids learn by doing.
Every Wild Med Kids course focuses on three core pillars: first aid foundations, basic survival skills, and teamwork.
We offer three distinct programs to ensure every child is learning at the right level for their developmental stage:
Wild Med Littles: Ages 4–6
Our youngest learners are introduced to safety awareness, recognizing trusted helpers, basic first aid concepts, and simple survival principles through play-based learning. Movement, storytelling, role-play, and hands-on activities keep this class fun, engaging, and confidence-building.
Wild Med Kids: Ages 7–12
This course dives deeper into practical first aid and outdoor skills. Students practice bandaging, splinting basics, situational awareness, emergency response steps, and introductory survival skills. Team-based challenges and realistic (but age-appropriate) scenarios help build independence and problem-solving abilities.
Wild Med Teens: Ages 13–16
Our teen course provides more advanced wilderness medicine principles, leadership training, and real-world scenario work. Students learn higher-level first aid skills, patient assessment basics, environmental emergency management, and group leadership in outdoor settings. This course builds both competence and confidence.
